This is training on a working mushroom farm, not in a classroom. You come to our farm at Barwasni in Sonipat on a Saturday morning, and Dr. Sonia Dahiya walks you through the operation as it is actually running — the composting yard, the growing rooms, the crop at whatever stage it happens to be in that week.

Sessions run every Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM — three hours on the farm. What you see depends on what the crop is doing that day: if a flush is being picked, you watch it being picked.

What you actually see

The practical teaching is on button mushrooms, because that is what the farm grows commercially and what most people in India start with. Rather than describing each stage, we show it:

Theory covers the other varieties — oyster and milky mushrooms among them — so you leave knowing which crop suits your climate, your budget and your market, not just the one we grow.

The business side

Growing mushrooms and running a mushroom business are different skills, and the second one is where most units fail. The session covers financial analysis through to business management: what a unit costs to build at your intended scale, what it returns, how margins move across the year, and who actually buys your crop locally.

Offline or online — an honest comparison

Both courses cover almost the same ground. The difference is how much of it you can absorb.

Put plainly: if you can get to Sonipat, come in person. Watching compost being turned and a flush being picked teaches you things no slide can. The online course exists so that distance is not the reason someone does not learn.
